Black Light Project
These are neon models of flying-saucer-shaped objects which I made with metal armature, plaster,
gesso, foamboard, clay, and paint.
The flying saucers “float” in a 1960s/70s outer-space atmosphere of color-changing fiber optic lamps,
green light, and plastic sheeting.
The saucers are: a yellow spaceship with pink wings, a blue-green jellyfish, two vinyl lps (reading
“The Jimi Hendrix Experience” and “Low, David Bowie”), a clock, a chocolate donut with sprinkles,
a red blood cell, eastern and western astrological wheels, a rainbow peace sign, a blue spider,
a circular saw, and a lime green spoked wheel.
Two neon pink lizards float above, behind the light sculpture. They glow fuchsia in the black light.
